Zune HD 32

For those who can wait until fall of 2009 the Zune 32 is a strong possibility. In fact, if the market allowed for more expensive player we would be seeing a Zune 64 priced about $320. Every year the price of memory is reduced. This is due to developments in manufacturing processes. Higher quantities of 32gb memory sales will also drive down prices.

If the Zune 32 release date occurs in September it will undermine the launch of the Nano which is currently limited to 16. It's also interesting that the original Zune was a hard drive based player with only 30 gb of internal storage.

The shiny black color may continue to define the high end Zune market, and if a Zune touch 32 is ever launched would appear in that color. Additional speculation is that Microsoft intends to avoid the cell phone market as far as hardware goes and focus on putting Zune software into as many phones as possible.
