ZunePhone denied by J Allard (for now)

In his most recent interview (Oct 3 2007) on the Zune brand J Allard was asked about the coming of the Zune phone, he brushed off the question and indicated the focus is on the current Zune devices. But top Microsoft executives have given strong hints about the coming of the Zune phone:

"We're actively seeking partners in the phone business" -Steve Ballmer Microsoft CEO (during Zune interview)

"A Zune phone is definitely part of the future of this brand." -Chris Stephenson, GM for Zune

So was he telling the truth? Yes and no. Yes, in the short term he is right, there will be no Zunephone. However, in the long run phones will converge with MP3 players. At that point the Zunephone will be inevitable.
